5K Runners Support Carl Perkins and Take Home Medals
Runners enjoyed pleasant weather on Saturday morning, October 22, 2022, for the Carl Perkins Center 5K Boo Run and Fun Run held in downtown Bolivar. The race was held in conjunction with the Bolivar BBQ Blowout and Music Festival, and a benefit for the center, which works for the prevention of child abuse.
There were four winners of the 5K Boo Run, which are Chris Burkeen, 1st place male age 0-39; Andrea Jones, 1st place female age 40 and up; Justin Jones, 1st place male 40 and up; and Mason McDonald, 1st place 13 and under.
The mission of the the Carl Perkins Center is to provide support to families in preventing and dealing with child abuse in West Tennessee, and to help both parents and children meet the practical needs of preserving and improving the quality of family life.
