96-year-old Pedestrian Fatally Injured on Lake Hardeman Road
A 96 year old man was fatally injured after being struck by a vehicle on Lake Hardeman Road the day after Christmas. According to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, at approximately 12:29 p.m., a vehicle was traveling west on Lake Hardeman Road. The pedestrian walked into the westbound lane of travel, into the path of the vehicle, and was impacted by the vehicle. No charges have been filed against the driver of the vehicle. The Tennessee Highway Patrol identified the victim as Walter Owen. An obituary for Mr. Owen states he proudly served his country in The United States Army and was a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church.
