Master Gardeners Recognized, Complete Over 1,300 Hours of Service
Hardeman County UT Extension Master Gardeners recently held their awards program honoring those who have completed requirements for interns and certification.
The Tennessee Extension Master Gardener program trains and certifies volunteers who provide community service through the county extension office. All volunteers are trained with 40 hours of horticultural classes and return 40 hours of volunteer community service through their extension office and local Master Gardener association. Hardeman County Master Gardeners gave 1,314 hours of volunteer service working on projects last year.
Angie Rose was named outstanding Master Gardener for 2022. Receiving intern certificates for completing 40 hours of instruction were Chris Anthony, Ester Jones, Amy Williams, Cassy Dawson, and Ron Dawson.
Karen Clayton, Johnny Weems, and Mary Moore received their Master Gardener certification after each completed 40 hours of horticulture instruction and contributing 40 hours of volunteer service on community projects.
Those receiving special recognition for contributing over 100 hours of service were Mary Moore, Ann Zaller, Barbara Oliger, and Angie Rose.
