TN Promise Community Service Hours Due December 2

Tennessee Promise community service hours must be submitted by Monday, December 2, 2024, for students taking spring 2025 classes to remain eligible to receive the last dollar scholarship. Students are required to complete eight hours of community service prior to the beginning of each semester, trimester, or quarter. That requirement continues while they are still in school and receiving the scholarship.

Students can volunteer onsite locally in their community or at locations outside of their area that have volunteer opportunities. They are also able to volunteer from the comfort of their own home. One of the main benefits of doing community service is giving back to one’s community. Other benefits include exploring career interests and connecting with others in those fields.

Community service may include tutoring, environmental clean-up, job shadowing, volunteering through a non-profit, and other activities for which the student is not paid and does not benefit personally.

There are a number of locations in Hardeman County where students may volunteer. Also, check the local county libraries to learn of more volunteer opportunities.

tnAchieves created a series of educational and informative webinars students may watch to satisfy the community service requirement online up to four hours. Those videos can be accessed through their tnAchieves student portal.
