The Tigers basketball teams from both Bolivar Central High School (BCHS) and Middleton High School (MHS) are ones to be reckoned with this 2022/2023 season. Both teams won their district championships with the BCHS Tigers being named the district 13AA regular season and tournament champions and MHS Tigers being named the district 14A regular season and tournament champions. BCHS and MHS play tonight as they dribble their way to the state championship in Murfreesboro.

Last week, the BCHS and MHS Tigers played games that determined home court hosting for the TSSAA sectional sub-state games tonight. BCHS played against Douglass High School and lost and MHS played against Humboldt High School and won.

“I’m real proud of the boys’ fight and effort in our game against Douglass. The guys played hard until the very end and that’s Bolivar Basketball,” said BCHS basketball coach Cameron Crisp.

Bolivar heads to Memphis to play against Power Center Academy and Middleton will play at home against Booker T. Washington. Both games are at 7 p.m. With wins tonight, both teams will continue to the state championship in Murfreesboro.

BCHS finished its regular district season with a record of 10 – 1. It lost to Scotts Hill on February 10 (86 – 87), but played them again on February 20 (70 – 63) and won. MHS finished its regular district season with a record of 10 – 0 and undefeated.
