Obituary: Carol J. Primavera
Carol J. Primavera ~ December 24, 1940 – July 24, 2023
Carol J. Primavera, 82, of Pocahontas, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, peacefully at her home.
A native of Kearny, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Gertrude Hawks Sincock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Mead (d. 1989); three brothers, Herk Sincock, Richard Sincock, and Thomas Sincock along with his wife, Linda.
She leaves three daughters, Diane Leverette (Charles Lanier) of Middleton, Christine Milone (Louis) of Jackson, Tennessee, and Linda Doherty (Howard) of Bayville, New Jersey; two sisters, Kathy Trent (Alan) of Canton, Georgia and Sarah Clarke (Oliver) of Wesley Chapel, Florida; a brother, Edward Sincock (Cathy) of Redmond, Washinton; sister-in-law, Nancy Sincock (Herk’s wife) of Port Charlotte, Florida; nine grandchildren, Rachael Harrington, Joseph Leverette, Louis Milone, Jr., David Mead, Courtney Doherty, Jonathan Doherty, Betty Maxwell, Dobie, and Jonathan Liston; Eleven great-grandchildren; and two close friends, Judy Morphis and Judy Howell, both of Pocahontas.
Mrs. Primavera moved to Hardeman County 20 years ago after growing up in New Jersey and, also living in New York and Dallas. She was retired Program Manager for the Woodbridge (NJ) Housing Authority and a member of Pocahontas First Baptist Church. She was an avid fan of the game show, Jeopardy! Friends and family knew not to try and contact her while it was on television because she would not answer her phone! She even took the test to try and become a contestant for the show.
While living in New Jersey, she could often be found attending the opera in New York City and was a die-hard NY Giants fan. She liked collecting anything having to the with cardinal birds, spending time on You Tube and, in her younger years, going to theme parks and riding various attractions. Always up for an adventure, she loved to ‘co-pilot’ trips with her family, outlining the route in her atlas with her highlight markers. Mrs. Carol enjoyed painting especially with her beloved art teacher, Judy Morphis. She loved living in her ‘little grey house’ in Pocahontas where she spent her final hours on earth and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Services will now be Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Pocahontas First Baptist Church. There will be no graveside service. Visitation will still be Friday, July 28, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church.
