Hardeman County Christmas Holiday Calendar

It is officially the Christmas Holiday season in Hardeman County and there are fun and exciting activities happening everywhere in our area. Hatchie Press has the county holiday calendar so you can start making your plans on where to go and what to do for family fun. The list will be updated as we learn of more events. Ongoing Events in December

Experience Small Town, Big Christmas in Bolivar: Relive a simpler time in the winter wonderland of Downtown Bolivar. Enjoy horse drawn carriage rides, purchase wares from local artisans displaying the highest quality hand made goods, watch free Christmas movies at the historic Luez theater, enjoy a drive through light show experience around Sand Beach Lake. The holiday event will also feature “snow” tubing, ice skating, train rides, and visits with Santa. Events are planned each weekend December 2 – 17, 2023. Click here for all the details.

Festival of Trees and Photos with Santa benefiting the Hardeman County Carl Perkins Center will be open on Friday through Sunday, December 8 – 10, 2023, and December 15 – 17, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The festival is located at 117 North Main Street in downtown Bolivar, across from the Hardeman County Courthouse.

December 1

Christmas Belles will appear on the Hardeman County Arts Council stage, 1580 West Market Street, Bolivar, 38008, Friday, December 1, 2023, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 and are available for purchase online and at the HCAC box office one hour before the performance. Hope Holiday Mart opens its doors at the Wheeler Building, 200 South Main Street, bolivar, 38008, on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. with over 40 vendors from which to choose and find those special gifts for family and friends (and yourself) this holiday season. Concessions will be available and on Friday only, you may purchase take-out dinner plates of your choice of either chicken or steak. The mart benefits the Hope House shelter.

December 2 – 4

Celebrate Christmas at the Lafayette Gin, 216 Highway 57 in Grand Junction, on Saturday, December 2, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Pictures with Santa, cookies, and beverages from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will be a tree lighting at 5:30 p.m. Vendors will be open from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. for your Christmas shopping.

The City of Bolivar presents its annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 2, 2023. There will be music, family fun, tree lighting, vendors, meet Santa, and more. The parade starts at 6 p.m.

City of Grand Junction Christmas Tree Lighting will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The schedule includes a small vendor show from 3 p.m. tp 6 p.m.; Santa and cookies and hot beverages from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and tree lighting at 5:30 p.m.

Free Christmas Movie Nights will be held at the Luez Theater, 219 Main Street, Bolivar, 38008, at 5 pm. The featured movie for Saturday, December 2, 2023, is Frosty’s Winter Wonderland.

The Saulsbury Library will host an Open House and book folding class on Saturday, December 2, 2023. The book folding class will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. R.S.V.P. for the class by calling Cissye at (731) 212-9424 or Dawn at (305) 393-9029. The Library Open House will be from p.m. to 5 p.m. Come on by for some free books, Christmas cookies, and hot chocolate!

December 5

Toone Hometown Holiday Christmas will be Tuesday, December 5, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. Punch, cookies, and hot chocolate will be served. Hoot will be playing the Sax, and the Grinch, Santa and, Mrs. Claus will be there too.

December 7

Girls Trip, A Christmas Play Production by the Bolivar Central High School music department will be presented on will be presented on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 7 p.m. The show will be performed in the high school auditorium, 313 Harris Street, Bolivar, 38008. Admission is $3 and the doors open at 6 p.m.

Stockdale’s Ladies Night Out Mr. Grinch in Bolivar will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mocktails and appetizers, special holiday sales, games and prizes, toy drive, reindeer feeding station, and more.

December 8 – 10

SOLD OUT! A Christmas Carol will be performed live at the Fair Theater in Somerville on Thursday through Saturday, December 7 – 9, 2023, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 2 p.m. Arrive 30 minutes early to get a picture with Santa Claus. Admission is $10. Click here to purchase tickets.

Bolivar Pop-ups will be held at the Old Wheeler Building, 200 South Main Street, Bolivar, 38008, on Friday and Saturday, December 8 – 9, 2023, and December 15 – 16, 2023, from 4 pm. to 9 p.m. Vendors and concessions will be on site. The event benefits the Hope House shelter.

Breakfast with Santa will be held at the Middleton High School (MHS) Cafeteria on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. There will be reindeer games, crafts, send a letter to Santa, and pictures with Santa or you can make your own. personalized ornaments will be available for purchase. Some ornaments will be hand painted by MHS Shaniyla Davis. The event is sponsored by the MHS band. Tickets purchased in advance are $8 and $10 at the door.

CANCELED Christmas Downtown Main St in the Town of Whiteville on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feel free to wear costumes, decorate trunks, take pictures with Santa, and join the costume contest. The tree lighting will be at 7 p.m.

Cupcakes and photos with the Grinch! Each child will get 1 lap pose and cupcake (while supplies last) on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 11am-1pm at the Hardeman County Chamber of Commerce- 114 S Main St. Bolivar, Tn 38008. This is a FREE Event.

Lighting of the Park at Chickasaw State Park’s drive through light display is Friday through Sunday, December 8 -10, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each night. Drive through the park and enjoy the lights and celebrate the Christmas Season from the comfort of your vehicle. This is a free program and donations will be accepted at the exit.

Pictures with Santa at the Middleton Library on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Photos with Santa, cookie decorating, and crafts for kids. Call (731) 376-0680 for more information. Pets are welcome.

Porters Creek Baptist Church Presents The Grinch Who Saved Christmas on December 10 at 5 p.m. There will be finger foods, and pictures with Santa and the Grinch after the performance. Porters Creek is at 5120 Peavine Road, Middleton, 38052.

December 15 – 17

A Rockin’ Christmas Celebration Featuring Soundbox comes to the Hardeman County Arts Council, 1580 West Market Street, Bolivar, 38008, on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 and on sale online and one hour before the show. Purchase tickets now.

RESCHEDULED TO DECEMBER 16, 2023 The Middleton Down Home Christmas Parade will roll down Main Street on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 6 p.m. The parade begins at Middleton Elementary School, travels down South Main Street, and ends at the Crossroads.
