BCHS Has a New Principal in the Seat

Students at Bolivar Central High School (BCHS) will see a new face in the principal’s office at the beginning of the 2022/2023 school year, as Hardeman County native James Crocker takes the seat.

“I am honored to be selected to take over as the principal of BCHS,” said Crocker. “We have a strong leadership team in place and are looking forward to working with our talented team of teachers to serve the students of BCHS.”

Principal Crocker comes full circle having started his career in education at BCHS in 2002, where he taught and coached football for 10 years.

“I then transferred to Middleton High School where I taught and coached football and tennis for another 10 years,” said Crocker whose entire career in education has been as a part of the Hardeman County School District.

Crocker graduated from Middleton High School in 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Mississippi State University and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University. Crocker is now entering his 21st year in education as the principal of BCHS.

“I am very excited about the new opportunities that are going to be available to BCHS students as a part of our district’s “Future Ready” initiative,” said Crocker. “Our goal is for every student to graduate having earned some type of post-secondary credential. The options include courses where students can earn college credit, TCAT credit hours, and industry certifications.”

Principal Crocker is looking forward to the school year, which he believes will be “a great year!”
