Students from the fifth grade class of Bolivar Elementary School (BES) participated in the 32nd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade on Saturday, January 13, 2024. It was the second time students from that class participated in the parade.

Ms. Debra Bowden, who drove the BES fifth grade students, has been a bus driver for Hardeman County since 2006.

The day of the parade had nice weather making everything fall into place well. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade Committee was appreciative of Mr. Dethrow, Ms. Bowden, and BES Principal Ms. Gina Smith for allowing it to use the school facility and grounds for the parade check-in and the line up. It was also appreciative of the Hardeman County School Board for granting overall permission as the committee continues to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life and legacy each year.
