Grand Junction Elementary Recognized as Reward School

“Congratulations Grand Junction Elementary School, you did it!” celebrated James Rutherford, the Executive Director of Instruction and Support for the Hardeman County Schools, at the Tuesday, February 6, 2024, school board meeting.

Grand Junction Elementary School was celebrated for its accomplishment of achieving Reward School status during the meeting. The Tennessee Department of Education, recognizes reward schools when they demonstrate high levels of performance and or improvement in performance by meeting their annual measurable objective across performance indicators and student groups.

James Rutherford recognized Grand Junction Elementary School’s Principal Dr. Linda Buggs at the February 6, 2024, School Board meeting.

Mr. Rutherford shared, “It is with great pride to recognize the students, families, teachers, and administrators of Grand Junction Elementary School on its Reward School status. They are also a Level 5, under the leadership of Dr. Linda Buggs and Ms. Mary Nell Jackson. Hardeman County Schools would like to express our sincere appreciation for you, your teachers, your students, and their families on their outstanding abilities, contributions, endless instructional hours spent designing lessons, working before and after school with students and making every instructional moment of the day integral to the daily success for each student. Your hard work, dedication, and commitment have been proven. As a district, we are confident that with this newly acknowledged status, Grand Junction Elementary School will continue their path to success. Congratulations Grand Junction Elementary School, you did it!”
