Essay Contest for High School Students Focuses on Artificial Intelligence
The Beta Sigma Chapter Tennessee State Organization of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is holding a writing essay contest to encourage, recognize, and reward high school students who demonstrate outstanding writing skills. The local chapter has opened its contest to Hardeman County public, private, and homeschool high school students in ninth through twelfth grades. This is the 39th year for the state contest, and the local chapter has sponsored the essay contest for most of those years.
The essay challenge for the contest this year is: Artificial intelligence (A.I.) is beginning to have a tremendous impact on our world. In what ways will A.I. positively and negatively affect your daily life, now and in the future?
Students are asked to do the following in their essay:
• Address the question,
• Include your own personal experiences, but you are not limited to first-hand
knowledge.
• Use an organizing structure appropriate to the purpose, audience, and content.
At the chapter level, students are eligible to win the following cash prizes:
First Prize: $75
Second Prize: $50
Third Prize: $25
Winners from the local chapter will move to the state competition.
