Obituary: Jerry Lee “Jaylee” Parham

Jerry Lee “Jaylee” Parham ~ February 24, 1934 – January 31, 2024 (age 89)

Jerry Lee “Jaylee” Parham, 89, passed away in Jackson on Wednesday January 31, 2024. He was born on February 24, 1934, in Fayette County to the late George Parham and Irine Spencer Parham.

His funeral service will be held at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church-Whiteville on Tuesday February 6, 2024, at 12 p.m. with Pastor Jermaine Shaw in charge. Burial will be in the Spencer Cemetery and Dixie Funeral Home is in charge of the professional service.

At an early age, Jerry Lee confessed a love for Jesus Christ and joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a member. He loved outdoor hobbies including hunting and fishing and also enjoyed the company of family and friends. Jerry Lee retired from Harmon/Harvard Automotive-Bolivar after 23 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents and stepfather; Adale McGowan; one brother; and five children.

He leaves to cherish his memory one brother, Dale Lee McGowan, Sr.; and one sister, Glendora Parham; four sons, Terrance (Margret) Joy, William Anderson, Andre (Kimberly) Parham and Titus Parham; four daughters, Merlene (Bruce) Cole, Tanglar Taylor, Angelia (Michael) Hollister and Catrina Jones; thirty-seven grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; and 26 great, great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends who will truly miss him.
