The Beverly Hillbillies Make Their Way to Somerville
The Beverly Hillbillies stage play, directed by Hardeman County’s Jeremiah Miller, will be presented by the Somerville Theatrical Arts Repertory, Inc. (STAR, Inc.) and open on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Fair Theater in Somerville. The comedy is based on the 1960s television show of the same name and with the same characters that people, both young and old, have grown to love.
Come follow the Clampett family from the Ozarks to posh Beverly Hills after they strike oil and become millionaires. Banker Mr. Drysdale tries to keep them from foolishly spending their newfound wealth, while also trying to “civilize” them . . . usually succeeding in making a fool of himself in the process. This is a fun comedy the whole family will enjoy.
The Beverly Hillbillies will be presented Friday and Saturday, March 8 – 9 and 15 – 16, 2024, at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, March 10 and 17, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased online or at the door.
Jeremiah Miller is making his directorial debut with The Beverly Hillbillies. Some of his acting credits with STAR, Inc. include Broadway Nights, Tarzan the Stage Musical, and The Play That Goes Wrong. Along with the director, there are other Hardeman County residents who are appearing in the production that include Phillip McMahan, Kayla Miller, Susanna Neal, and Charles Schrimsher.
