Obituary: Farrar Kimbrough
Farrar Kimbrough was born on May 21, 1951, to Sallie and Grady Kimbrough. He died on Friday, April 12, 2024, in his favorite recliner chair in the comfort of his home that he designed.
As a child, he attended Greenwood Baptist church in Lamar, Mississippi. After moving to Tennessee, he became a member of Pleasant Grove Saulsbury church in Saulsbury, Tennessee.
In 1970, he married his wife, Lottie Webber (Kimbrough). They were married for 54 years. Lottie was a faithful wife who supported and cared for him until his death. Farrar had five children, Arlando Kimbrough, Eric Kimbrough (d), Terrance Foster (Jammie), Farrar Beard, and Marcel Herron. He had 12 grandchildren, Isiah Brown, Christian Kimbrough, Alexis Kimbrough, Alissa Kimbrough, Shatoy Morton, Mikaela Soderholm, Ariannie Foster, Zoey Foster, Terrance Foster II, Shena Beard, Benjamin Herron, Sophia Herron, and Arlando Kimbrough Jr.
Mr. Kimbrough is the fifth child of Sally Kimbrough’s eight children. His siblings are James Kimbrough (d), Ernest Kimbrough (d), Gracie Jackson (d), David Kimbrough (d), Joanne McKenzie, Clarence Kimbrough, Alfred Kimbrough, and Ben Franklin.
He worked at Brach’s candy company in Chicago, Illinois until he retired. In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring vintage cars, gardening, and spending quality time with his grandchildren teaching them life lessons and how to garden.
His funeral service will be held at the Jerome Boyd Chapel at Dixie Funeral Home on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 1 p.m. with a burial at the Spring Chapel AME Church Cemetery-Grand Junction. Dixie Funeral Home is in charge of the professional service.
