U.S. House, District 8 Candidate Sarah Freeman Speaks to Hardeman County Democrats

The Hardeman County Democrats hosted Sarah Freeman, a candidate for the Democratic nomination for U.S. House, District 8, at its monthly meeting that was held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Whiteville Community Center. Ms. Freeman shared her platform with those in attendance to garner support for her run in the upcoming primary.

Ms. Freeman, a college history professor from Germantown, serves as the Tennessee Democratic Party Executive Committeewoman for Senate District 31. Some of the issues Ms. Freeman will support include federal legislation that protects democracy and voting rights, LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive and contraceptive rights, quality accessible healthcare, worker’s rights, the environment, quality public education, the military and veterans, and NATO and U.S. allies. Ms. Freeman noted she will fight against all forms of ethnic, racial, religious, economic, and gender discrimination, and will fight for common sense gun safety laws. If Ms. Freeman wins the primary, she will challenge incumbent Congressman David Kustoff in the general election.

The next Hardeman County Democrats meeting will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Whiteville Community Center.
