Obituary: April “Mom” Miller

April “Mom” Miller touched the lives of many with her warm and nurturing nature, earning her the endearing title of “Mom” from all who knew her. She was born on March 23, 1974, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and sadly passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at her home in Bolivar, Tennessee.

April’s legacy extends beyond her career as a retired manager at McDonald’s and a Paparazzi Jewelry seller for five years. She will be remembered for her love of playing Dungeons & Dragons, watching wrestling matches, and the joy found in decorating for Christmas, a tradition that began as early as October each year. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

April leaves behind a grieving family including her husband, John Miller of Bolivar; sons, Jeremiah Miller and Kayla of Bolivar, Caleb Miller and Anna Young of Henderson, Michael Miller and Caeleigh of Brighton, and Russell Turnbull, BJ Wood, and Austin Perry, all of Bolivar; daughter, Rachel Miller (Koda Blair) of New York; and grandchildren Jareth Grisham, Gideon Miller, Madeline Miller, and the eagerly anticipated arrival of Eliana Miller in the fall.

She is also survived by her brothers, Christopher Rottier, Andrew Rottier, Kevonte Rottier, Jamel Rottier, Brandon Rottier, Jeffrey Rottier; sisters, Hannah Rottier, Rachel Baker, Skylar Rottier, and Donna Osterman; father, Terrance Louis Rottier; and mother, Linda Mae Willemsen Rottier.  She was preceded in death by a son, Zacheriah Miller; a brother, Mathew Rottier; and a grandchild, Guinevere Miller.

Church services will be at Parrans Chapel Baptist Church on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 3 p.m. with the burial in the Parrans Chapel Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar are in charge of professional arrangements.

April “Mom” Miller’s kindness and maternal spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in peace knowing she was loved by many.
