Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity All White Affair Fundraiser Proves to be a ‘Class Act Affair’

The Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Nu Iota Sigma Chapter held its annual All White Affair on Saturday, June 8, 2024, in Jackson, Tennessee. Fraternity members from the Nu Iota Sigma chapter as well as other chapters from across the state were in attendance to support the fundraising effort.

Although the event was hosted by the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, members from other Greek organizations like Alpha Kappa Alpha, Alpha Phi Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Zeta Phi Beta, the sisters of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, and other friends came out in support of the elegant affair that celebrated 20 years of the Hardeman County Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity graduate chapter.

“Sigmas from as far as Nashville came,” said Phi Beta Sigma Nu Iota Sigma Chapter member Tracy Shaw, who is known locally in Hardeman County as Baby Jock on WOJG FM radio. “The Southwestern Regional Director Brandon Hill, Tennessee State Director Ladarius Millen, Tennessee State Director of Zeta Phi Beta Joyce Murphy, and Nu Iota Sigma Chapter President William Futrell were some of the guests who attended the event.”

Entertainment featured Star Jones and The Major & Minor Band, and finger foods were served.

“It was a beautiful diverse gathering with entertainment from a great DJ and a live band keeping dancers on the floor. It was a fantastic night of fun, dancing, and laughter. We had a Ball,” said Phi Beta Sigma Nu Iota Sigma Chapter member Willie Spencer.

“It was a class act affair and wonderful celebration. It was great to share the All White evening with the Nu Iota Sigma Chapter,” said Dr. Yvonne Allen, who is a Zeta Phi Beta sorority member. “The Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority are institutionally bound sisters and brothers. It was great to support the affair and I look forward to future affairs just to support my brothers.”

Mr. Shaw was pleased with the evening and noted the chapter is already in preparation for its All Black event that will be held in the fall.

“The whole evening was awesome, entertaining, and fun was had by all in attendance,” said Mr. Shaw.

Phi Beta Sigma Nu Iota Sigma Chapter member Anthony Ford shared that the event would benefit the March of Dimes, and the Nu Iota Sigma Chapter Scholarship Fund and Adopt-a-School program.

“We would like to thank the community for their continued support,” said Mr. Ford.
