Obituary: Donald Murray McCall

Donald Murray McCall ~ April 8, 1936 – June 16, 2024 (age 88)     

Donald Murray McCall, 88, of Saulsbury, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at his home on Candlewood Lake under the care and presence of his family. He was born on April 8, 1936, in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Elmer and Wealtha Mae McCall.

Mr. McCall graduated from high school in Gary, Indiana and served his country enlisting in the Navy for the Korean War. He served active duty for four years and another four years in the reserves. Mr. McCall married Julia Ann Morris on March 5,1960, and had a long career in the building supply industry with Plywood, Inc. He dedicated his adult life to serving Jesus Christ through ministry at Bartlett Baptist Church in Bartlett, Tennessee as a member, deacon, and coach.

Mr. McCall was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years; his parent; and seven brothers and sisters.

Mr. McCall is survived by his three sons, Fred Murray McCall (Danita) of Tampa, Florida, Stanley Morris McCall (Dina) of Arlington, Tennessee, and Reverend Perry Miller McCall (Robin) of Madden, Mississippi; eight grandchildren, Chad Murray McCall, Kelly Ann McCall, Conrad B. Morris McCall, Karly Rhea Moyer, Julia Elizabeth McCall, Lauren Ruth McCall, Rebekah Lynn McCall, and Andrew Boyce McCall; and three great grandchildren.

The Family will hold visitation in the Jerome Boyd Chapel at Dixie Funeral Home on Tuesday 25, 2024, in Bolivar, Tennessee. Funeral service will be held at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 11a.m.

The family requests remembrances and memorials in lieu of flowers be made to the Campbell Bulldog Fund for Childhood Cancer and Awareness. This fund is housed at the Community Foundation for Mississippi.
