Fish Fry Raises Funds for New Hickory Valley Fire Truck
The Hardeman County Community showed up on Saturday, July 13, 2024, to support Hickory Valley’s goal of raising $100,000 to go towards a new fire truck. There were 199 catfish plates sold during the fundraiser, which helped to bring them even closer to their goal. So far, their efforts through fundraisers and donations have raised approximately $65,000.
Fire Chief Mike Vaughn shared they are grateful for the support they have received from the whole county.
“We appreciate everyone coming out,” said Chief Vaughn
Senator Page Walley, along with Representative Johnny Shaw, announced in December 2022 that Hickory Valley had secured a $327,943 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to go towards fire services improvements. As a part of the matching grant, Hickory Valley needs to raise $100,000.
Anyone wishing to donate may send a check, made out to Hickory Valley Fire Department – Truck Fund, to City Hall at 7115 Highway 18 South, Hickory Valley, Tennessee 38042
