Obituary: Tommie Lue Walton

Tommie Lue Walton ~ September 24, 1969 ~ July 5, 2024 (age 54)

Tommie Lue Walton was born on September 24, 1969, at Bolivar General Hospital to Henrietta Walton and the late Tom Walton.

She was raised and attended school in Hardeman County. Tommie Lue transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Jackson General Hospital.

Tommie Lue Accepted Christ at an early age at Jones Chapel M.B. Church and later joined Mays Hill M.B. Church.

She was united in holy matrimony to Anthony Cornell Morrow, Sr. on February 17, 2006. Tommie Lue was a loving wife, child, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. If you knew her, you knew she did not play about her grandchildren and her grandchildren didn’t play about their “Muhmuh.” Tommie Lue was known near and far for her barbecue. Her heart was so big that she would literally try to feed the whole neighborhood where she resided. If she was going to cook, her neighbors knew they didn’t have to cook.

Tommie Lue worked her entire adult life until she started experiencing health issues that hindered her from working. Even while battling a cancer diagnosis, her faith was unshakable and her relationship with God was unbreakable. Her response to any and all circumstances and/or situations was always “say no more”. Tommie Lue lived a life full of love, joy, and laughter. There was never a dull moment if she were present. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. Tommie Lue was always Tommie Lue; she left her mark on this earth and will most definitely be missed.

Tommie Lue leaves behind to cherish her memories her husband, Anthony C. Morrow; her mother, Henrietta Walton; five daughters, Karmetriya (Marcus) Williams, Jalicia Watkins, Melicia Watkins, Priscillar Jenkins, and Drucilla Jenkins; three sons, Anthony Morrow, Jr., Jermaine Wilks, and Marcus Morrow; eleven grandchildren, Marquavies Williams, Karmaya Williams, Mardravious Morrow, David Valentine Jr., Jakelyn Watkins, Bryson Bell, Dylan Jenkins, Marjada Watkins, Lauren Watkins, A’Terriya Gwynn, and Maliyah Watkins; one great grandchild, Sky’lar Williams; two brothers, Eddie Ray Walton and Tommy Ray Walton; four sisters, Beverly McBride, Lisa (Elve) Wright, Monica (John) Woods-Long, and Elizabeth Woods; four aunts, Blanche Cheairs, Vernelle Polk, Lucille Morgan, and Jerlene Murphy; two uncles, Jerry Murphy and Roy Lee Murphy; seven sister in laws; three brother in laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
