Hardeman County NAACP Encouraged People to “Get Out the Vote”
The Hardeman County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and its Youth Council came out two weekends during early voting to encourage people to exercise their right to vote in the recent State and Federal Primary, State and County General Election, and Town of Whiteville Municipal elections that were held in the county.
On Saturday, July 20, 2024, several members of the NAACP Youth Council set up at two business locations in Bolivar. Although many of them are too young to vote, the students recognize the importance of the action and encouraged those who could vote to “Get Out the Vote”!
On Saturday, July 27, 2024, the Bolivar Hardeman County Branch of the NAACP partnered with local social organizations to encourage voter participation in their community, which was the last day to vote early in the county. Local branch members held signs reminding people to go to the polls and vote. They also thanked local voters for going to the polls as they exited the polls.
The Bolivar Hardeman County Branch NAACP thanked the community for its continued support.
“I would like to thank all those who exercised their right to vote in this county general/state primary election,” said NAACP Branch President Dixie Spencer, who shared the sentiment of the Hardeman County Branch members.
