TEC Brings Recycling Roundup to Hardeman County
MIDDLETON, TENNESSEE – Tennessee Environmental Council (TEC) is excited to host its first Recycling Roundup in Hardeman County. Local residents and surrounding community members are encouraged to bring their hard-to-recycle items to Middleton Elementary School on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Anyone willing to drive to the event is welcome to attend. Residents may bring electronics, tires, scrap metal, mattresses, food and beverage glass bottles, select Styrofoam, pet supplies, eyeglasses and more. Secure paper shredding will also be on site. Visit tectn.org/middletonroundup for a detailed list of materials that will be accepted at the event, as well as any item limitations.
This event is one of many being organized by TEC, a statewide non-profit organization. TEC’s goal with these events is to reduce illegal dumping and litter across Tennessee, while reducing the public’s reliance on landfills. This event is free and open to all residents. This project is funded under a grant contract with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). Additional Roundups will take place this year in Knoxville, Centerville, and Lebanon.
“These Roundups make it easy and convenient for residents to recycle,” says Abby Schneider, TEC’s Recycle Tennessee Program Director. “We look forward to providing an opportunity to educate community members with recycling resources that they may be unaware of.”
Those interested in volunteering for this event may sign up online now. Two volunteers will be chosen at random to receive a Patagonia prize pack or a digital gift card to Memphis refill store, Boshi Botanicals.
Area residents are invited to Clean Up, Drive Through, and Drop Off items to be recycled.
When: Saturday, October 5, 2024, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Middleton Elementary School, 180 Robin Court, Middleton, Tennessee 38052
