Obituary: Shameka Tanese Wellington

Shameka Wellington, 36, of Jackson passed away on Tuesday September 3, 2024. She was born on February 14, 1988 to Betty Jean Wellington and Sammie Green, Sr. 

Her memorial service will be held at the Jerome Boyd Chapel at Dixie Funeral Home on Saturday September 21, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend Tony Kearney in charge.

She attended the Hardeman County public schools and was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church until she could no longer attend. Shameka enjoyed being with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Richard and Henry Lee Green.

Shameka leaves to cherish her memory her mother and one son, Jarquez Wellington; four sisters, Geraldine, Anette, Linda Faye, and Bessie Green; four brothers, Terrell Wellington, Steve Green, Sammie, Jr., and Louis Green; and many other family and friends that will miss her.
