Shoppers can expect to find more than tomatoes at the county farmers markets. Some of the produce sold include cucumbers, corn, potatoes, greens, and peppers, as well as homemade baked goods, and jams and jellies, and more.

Volunteer and give back to your community at one of these locations this weekend (or during the week). If your child will use the Tennessee Promise scholarship in the spring as a new or returning student, they can volunteer at one or more of those locations to satisfy the community service hour requirement. Don’t wait until the last minute. Tennessee Promise hours for spring 2025 students must be completed by Monday, December 2, 2024.

The VFW is holding a donation drive for East Tennessee and North Carolina flood victims. It is seeking clothes, shoes, diapers, and personal hygiene items. No food items or water will be accepted. You may drop off donations at 14840 Highway 18 South, Bolivar 38008, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items will be picked to be delivered to victims on Monday, October 28, 2024. Bolivar BBQ Blowout & Music Festival starts today with food competition, music, rides, and more for the family to enjoy from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Check out the schedule:

Whiteville Correctional Facility { 1440 Union Springs Road , Whiteville, 38075 } will be have a Haunted House from 6:30 – p.m. to 9 p.m.

Take in a movie at the Luez Theater {219 North Main Street, Bolivar, 38008} where The Wild Robot is being shown on the big screen at 7 p.m. Synopsis: Shipwrecked on a deserted island, a robot named Roz must learn to adapt to its new surroundings. Building relationships with the native animals, Roz soon develops a parental bond with an orphaned gosling.

Little Shop of Horrors (Non-musical) will be presented by Star, Inc. at the Fair Theatre { 114 East Market Street, Somerville, 38068 } at 7 p.m.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2024
Conservation Outreach Seminar will be held at Greater Springfield Missionary Baptist Church { 407 South Madison Street, Bolivar 38008 } from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in partnership with Bolivar, Grand Junction, and Whiteville Hardeman County Commissioners.

Little Shop of Horrors (Non-musical) will be presented by Star, Inc. at the Fair Theatre { 114 East Market Street, Somerville, 38068 } at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Middleton Elementary School { 180 Robin Court, Middleton, 38052 } is holding a harvest festival from 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. There will be food, fun, games, a haunted house, a country store, and a silent, and at 5 p.m. a live auction will be held.

Hebron Baptist Church { 2580 Hebron Road, Middleton, 38052 } is holding a Fall-Le-Lujah with games (4 p.m. to 5 p.m.), chili supper (5 p.m. to 6 p.m.), Trunk ‘R’ Treat (6 p.m. to 7 p.m.), and of course candy!

Toone Baptist Church { 20 Keller Street, Toone, 38381 } will hold its annual Fall Bonfire at 5:30 p.m. Smores and hot dogs will be served.

“Cool Karaoke” with Linda & The Karaoke Crew will be held at The Green Frog Sound Stage in Middleton from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Singers wanted.
