Election Commission Moves, Early Voting Location Changed

The Hardeman County Election Commission recently moved to a new location in Bolivar. It now shares a building with the Hardeman County Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The new address is 227 Lucy Black Road in Bolivar.

Early voting, which runs Wednesday, October 16, 2024, through Thursday, October 31, 2024, will take place at the new location. {Click here to see what’s on the ballot}

The move originated when Election Administrator Amber Moore expressed her desire for a new building at the February 2023 meeting of the Hardeman County Commission. She stated the current location had moisture problems and they needed more space due to new voting machines, and new laws requiring paper ballots. Moore asked for the County to build a new building for the Election Commission, which she said would need to be completed by the end of 2023.

The County Commission ultimately decided not to build a new building and instead renovated an unused portion of the EMS building, saving the County money.

The Election Commission’s hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is closed each day for lunch from 1 p.m. to 1 p.m. The telephone number is (731) 658-4751.
