Jerry Lawler Suit Against County Dismissed
In July 2018, a Hardeman County deputy arrested Brian Lawler, the son of Jerry Lawler, for DUI. While in jail, Lawler died by suicide. His father sued Hardeman County, Tennessee, Sheriff Doolen, Leonard Brown, Judy Wiggins, Ellen Futrell, and William Gonzalez. { read article }
October Deemed Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Hardeman County
The public signing of the proclamation by McTizic, Pulse, and Thompson was to bring light to this “destructive force in our society and to become part of the efforts to build safe, stable, nurturing relationships, and families”. { read article }

Middleton Woman’s Club Scholarship Awarded to Mott and Smith
Both young ladies met the scholarship requirements of earning a 3.0 GPA, community and school involvement, and a commitment to future goals and ambitions. { read article }
Bolivar’s Reece McMahan Heading to Carnegie Hall
Reece has been playing the clarinet for six years and currently plays in the band at Bolivar Central High School (BCHS), where he is a junior. Music has been a part of his life for a long time. { read article }

Lady Tigers Volleyball Celebrates Seniors in Championship Season
The camaraderie of these ladies goes further than just being players on a team. They all have played together since middle school under the coaching of Zeke Craft. { read article }
North Hardeman Softball Takes Championship Title
Play began with Middleton against Bolivar that resulted in Middleton winning with a final score of 4-2. Middleton next played North Hardeman with the latter taking the championship with a score of 10-1. { read article }

Fentanyl overdoses have reached alarming levels, claiming tens of thousands of lives annually. This epidemic has put police officers in the difficult position of encountering overdosing individuals on a near-daily basis, pushing them to take swift action to prevent deaths. { read article }
