Kyndle Wylde Wows at “Thank You Bolivar” Concert
Small town Bolivar girl Kyndle Wylde wowed the audience during her sold out concert, which was held at the Hardeman County Arts Center (HCAC) on Saturday, November 16, 2024. The concert was a “thank you” to the community, which has supported her since as far back as 2011 when she first performed during Open Mic Night at Music on the Square and as recently as contributing to her win by voting for her in the CBS Mornings Mixtape Music Competition.
“We’ve spent weeks, months preparing for this [concert]. It’s like planning a wedding day,” said Kyndle. “I feel so much joy being here!”
The joy extended to the audience even before the beginning of the show, which was general admission. People were already lined up outside of the HCAC doors, and eventually filling the lobby ready to grab their seats once the theatre doors opened.
Kyndle began her set with “Higher” and took the audience to that point with an energy that drew everyone in while setting an exhilarating tone that stayed lively throughout the entirety of the show. The audience was treated with some new and original songs she and her husband, Adam, have been working on. Also on the play list were Kyndle’s version of a number of cover songs, including Johnny Nash’s song, “I Can See Clearly Now”, which was the song for the CBS Mornings competition. Kyndle shared how she and Adam learned about the competition earlier this summer.
“A friend sent us a photo of the CBS Mornings contest. We scrounged up resources and asked all these guys [gesturing to the band] to come with us. It was a shot in the dark, but we won,” said Kyndle to an audience, which erupted in a warm and excited applause.
Although there were a few people in the audience new to Kyndle’s music, many in attendance were family and friends who have known Kyndle and the McMahans since she was a child and have watched with pride the success she has achieved over the years. Coming from a musical family, it has been no surprise to many that both Kyndle and her brother, Reece, who made a special appearance on stage, are accomplished in music. Kyndle proudly announced Reece had recently returned from performing at Carnegie Hall in New York.
Despite the fact she now lives in Nashville, Kyndle has a strong connection to her family in Hardeman County. She shared about recent losses of people close to her noting it has been a reality check.
“The more I think about home, the more I think about you guys. I think about people who are no longer here, but in a way that honors people and does not bring you down. I think about the things that get said and it is always about how they made you feel and what they did for all of us,” said Kyndle, expressing material things no longer matter as much. “We all have goals. I’m starting to change where love and service to others is more important in life. Hold the people close in your life, because one day we will not be able to hold them.”
