Obituary: Carolyn Paulette Crowley Stack
Carolyn Paulette Crowley Stack, 82, of Silerton, departed her earthly life on Tuesday evening, January 14, 2025, at Henderson Health and Rehabilitation in Henderson, Tennessee.
A native and life-long resident of Silerton, she was born Friday, November 27, 1942, the daughter of the late Glenwood Paul and Freeda Rister Crowley. After receiving her education in Silerton and graduating from Bolivar Central High School, she married Grady Stack on August 26, 1960, in Silerton.
Mrs. Stack was primarily a homemaker; however, she was active in many other endeavors throughout her life. She was a faithful member of Silerton Baptist Church where she worked in Sunday school, vacation Bible school, and was church treasurer for 30 years. Mrs. Stack formerly worked at the shirt factory in Henderson and, with the City of Silerton, was bookkeeper and helped during city elections.
Her love for children not only manifest itself in her church work but also when she was manager of the school cafeteria at Toone Elementary. She also was known for babysitting children in her home. In her leisure time, she liked camping, playing “Spinners”, and watching television.
Services will be at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1 p.m. with Robert L. Gibson and Dr. Charlie Carouthers officiating. The burial will be in Silerton Baptist Church Cemetery.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, she leaves two sons, David Eugene Stack (Lois) and Glenn Wade Stack (Robin), both of Silerton; her brother, Richard Crowley (Rita) of Silerton; grandson, Nathan Stack; two step-grandchildren, Kenny Haynes and Linda Termuhlen (Evan); seven step-great grandchildren, Gavin, Jaylen, Jaxon and Millie Larue Haynes and, Ethan, and Tristan and Leland Termuhlen; neice and nephews, Whitney, Rick, and Alan Crowley; and great-nieces and nephew, Rachel, Sarah, and Matthew Crowley. She was preceded death, also, by a sister-in-law, Brenda Cooper.
