Mrs. Tyler was born in Michie, Tennessee on November 24, 1939, and she passed from this life on Thursday, January 9, 2025, in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. Sue was an amazing woman with a gusto for life and possessed the biggest caring heart. Sue never met a stranger, because she would strike up a conversation and know more about that person in a very short period, and have the best time getting to know them. She had a contagious and memorable laugh that would put a smile on everyone’s face. Sue was a hard-working woman, who was not concerned about materialistic possessions. She loved her family more than anything. They were her pride and joy and the main reasons for her existence. Sue made this world a better place while living and left this world an everlasting memory.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, J.P. English and Maggie Zelphie Gray and her stepfather, Roy Gray; her husband, Delbert M. Tyler, Jr.; her sisters, Alice Jeanette Toubeau and Rebecca Jean Robinson; her brother, Jarvis Scott Gray; and her sister-in-law, Dee Gray.
She is survived by her siblings, Gary Gray (Gina), Barry Gray, Sheila Shields (Jim), and Michael Gray. As well as her children, Kathryn Tyler, Cynthia Grantham, Loretta Grantham, Del Tyler, and Emily Tyler. Sue is survived by 15 grandchildren, Brandon King, Chase King, David Grantham, Elizabeth Gentry, Kenny Grantham, Erin Grantham, Kim Reyes, Loran Grantham, Bridget Jones, Heather Small, Cassie M. Graham, Penny Lowrence, Stephanie Moore, Amber Davis, and David H. Davis. She is also survived by 44 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and “one on the way”.
Memorials may be sent to either the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
