Hardeman County Arts Center Implements New Safety Policy

The Hardeman County Arts Center (HCAC) has implemented a new safety policy, which takes effect Wednesday, March 5, 2025. According to its Facebook page and an e-mail sent to its members, the new measure was created to “ensure the safety and security of our cast, crew, and audience”.

The Arts Center presents theatrical productions, concerts, and community classes each season. Those events usher in hundreds of people through the Arts Center doors, who come from Hardeman County, its surrounding areas, and beyond. With the variety of entertainment offerings, the number of people attending has grown.

From the HCAC:

For the safety of all, OVERSIZED BAGS AND BACKPACKS ARE NO LONGER PERMITTED INSIDE OUR VENUE. We reserve the right to ask attendees to return any oversized bags or backpacks to their vehicles before entry. Additionally, we reserve the right to search bags upon entry.

Please be advised that NO FIREARMS OR WEAPONS ARE ALLOWED INSIDE OUR VENUE. We kindly ask for your cooperation in adhering to this policy.

The HCAC is just one of a number of venues taking precaution to ensure the safety of people attending events. In December 2024, Bolivar Central High School and Middleton High School implemented a clear bag policy for all basketball and football games.

The next production at the HCAC is the annual production of Hee Haw, a fundraiser show for the American Cancer Society. Although the HCAC already offers online ticket sales for all of its events, this is the first year since Hee Haw was started more than 40 years ago that people can now purchase those tickets online.

The HCAC is always looking for ways to improve the experience for those behind the scenes, on the stage, and in the audience.
