Hardeman County 4-H Students Named Western Region Champions

Hardeman County 4-H members competed in the Western Region 4-H Meats Judging Contest, which was held in Lexington on Thursday, February 13, 2025. The contestants were given the task of identifying 30 retail cuts, placing a class of T-bone steaks and smoked ham slices, as well as answering five questions on each class.
The Hardeman County Senior Team of Hannah Gibson (2nd), Rachel Goodrum (3rd), and Brianna Foster (1st), swept the top three spots as high scoring individuals and were named the Western Region Champion earning the right to advance to the state competition in Knoxville in June.
The Hardeman County Junior High Team of Bethany Goodrum (3rd), Bella Watkins (4th), David Gibson (1st), and Jerrod Goodrum (2nd), swept the top four spots as high scoring individuals and were named the Western Region Champion. Lily Young competed as an individual, placing 7th in the division.
