Obituary: Magdline Vinson Gaines
Magdline Vinson Gaines, 97, passed from this life Monday, March 24, 2025, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Born in Middleton on October 12, 1927, her father and mother were the late W.C and Clara Maude Stewart. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Dan Edward Stewart.
She so much enjoyed growing her garden and doing yard work when she was able. Her house was always clean even though housework was not her favorite thing to do. Mrs. Gaines worked in the motion picture business, in its Memphis offices, for such notable companies as National Screen Service, Paramount, Warner Brothers, and MGM. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in West Memphis, Arkansas.
Survivors include a son, Larry Joe Vinson; a sister, Shelby Jean Stovall; grandchildren, Stacy Choate, Joe Vinson, Lance Vinson, and Lisa Robinson; and great grandchildren, Nathan Cox, Owen Vinson, and Brooklyn Robinson.
Graveside services were on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Bolivar Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar.
