Meeke Addison Stresses Being Ambassador for Christ at Porters Creek Ladies Day

An open invitation went out to women inside and outside of Hardeman County for the Porters Creek Baptist Church’s (PCBC) fourth annual Ladies Day program, which was held on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Meeke Addison, who has earned a long resume of accomplishments in Biblical ministry, was the keynote speaker.

Ms. Addison has ministered to women for more than 20 years through speaking and teaching. Her focus has been on encouraging Christians, helping them understand their purpose, and how to live for the glory of God. Her other professional experience includes working as a spokesperson for American Family Radio, as a conference speaker, and an author. Ms. Addison is a co-founder of Culture Proof and a co-host of the Culture Proof podcast with her husband, Wil, whom she shares their six home schooled children.

The women participated in a fun ice breaker using straws to start the program.

The theme for the program was Blessed Identity: How Christ Made a New People and What That Means for Us. Ms. Addison spoke to the more than 100 women in attendance about being “Ambassadors for Christ”. Tapping into her experiences as a wife and mother, Ms. Addison was able to add a lot of relatable humor, which she weaved throughout the seriousness of her message of ensuring the women understood the importance of their positions and privilege of being an ambassador for God.

Using 2 Corinthians 5:17-21 as a reference, Ms. Addison defined the word ambassador and explained their responsibility.

“When a person reflects us [as an ambassador], we want them to get it right,” said Ms. Addison. “God has a desire to be represented accurately.”

The ladies worshiped through song.

Ms. Addison shared an example of her son taking a simple task and deciding to do it his way. She compared it to the way some Christians often behave instead of following the way God has established as His way/the correct way. She noted when a Christian performs an act against God’s direction or does “what they think is best at that moment”, they are stating they know better than God and are not acting as an ambassador for Him.

She explained further showing an ambassador is one who represents their home country [God].

Tiffany Adams presented special music.

“An ambassador has a residence that is considered the territory of the home country and not the host country, so the embassy and the place where the ambassador lives, this is not the property of the host country it is the property of the home country subject to all the protections of the home country . . . there is safety there [in the embassy/with God] and a protection over our dwelling. . .,” said Ms. Addison.

Ms. Addison honed in that as an ambassador for Christ, we are subject to His rules [the Bible] and not those of man. She noted, many people combine the world and the Word of God and use the elements they choose when they represent themselves as Christians.

“As ambassadors, you can trust God’s way. Ambassadorship is a privilege. God has chosen you to reflect Him to a world that is desperate,” said Ms. Addison, who left the women with a challenge. “What will being an ambassador for God look like in your life?”

After Ms. Addison spoke, the women were served lunch by the men of PCBC and enjoyed a taco bar and desserts.

The Ladies Day program is just one of the many events held at PCBC where people may learn more about God. Upcoming at the church is an Easter Sunrise Service, which will be held on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at 6:30 a.m.
