Tamarcus “TJ” Smith to Play in West Tennessee All-Star Game

Middleton High School (MHS) basketball player Tamarcus Smith basketball season just got extended as he prepares to participate in the West Tennessee All-Star basketball game, which will be held at Trinity Christian High School on Saturday, May 31, 2025. This is just one more accolade Tamarcus, familiarly known on the court and on campus as TJ, has earned this year in his basketball career.
TJ was a pivotal player during the 2024/2025 MHS basketball season alongside his teammates with the Tigers being named 2025 Region Runner-Ups. Although the Tigers season ended with a final shot by Hillcrest High School {see video} in a one-point game difference, it is still a season of which TJ should be proud. TJ was also name to the All-Region 7A Tournament Team.
“TJ is not only a well rounded playmaker for the Tigers, but a good student off the court. He is a good student in the classroom as well as a leader whom the other student athletes can follow,” said MHS basketball coach James Burkley. “Tamarcus is very deserving of this recognition!”
