Y.E.P. 2025 Serving the Community and Sharing the Gospel

The Youth Evangelism Project (Y.E.P.) has kicked off another season of community service in Hardeman County. This is the 13th year students and volunteers from area churches have come together to make a positive difference in the community while sharing the gospel with those they serve.
“The churches participating this year are Dixie Hills Baptist Church, First Baptist Church Bolivar, Hornsby Baptist Church, Parrans Chapel Baptist Church, Porters Creek Baptist Church, and Walnut Grove Baptist Church,” said Matt Emerson, pastor of Hornsby Baptist Church. “They [students and volunteers] will be working on cleaning trash from roadways. providing free car washes, visiting senior and nursing homes, and doing some light construction projects.”

This year, there are 65 students, who are in the sixth through twelfth grades, and 40 adult volunteers serving through Y.E.P. Students and volunteers started this morning with prayer before they headed out throughout the county for a full schedule of planned community projects. Being properly equipped with working tools, wearing protective gear, staying well hydrated, and full of the Word, will allow them to better serve and share on their mission this week.
“Y.E.P. is a hands-on mission event for students across Hardeman County. Its goal is to show the love of Jesus in practical ways. Our ultimate goal is to tell our community how to love God through Jesus,” Pastor Emerson.

Be on the lookout for Y.E.P. participants throughout the county as they serve people in the community through Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
