Arts Council Holding Virtual/In-Person Auditions for Little Women

The Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC) has opened auditions for Little Women, which is the first production for its 2025/2026 theatrical season. In-person and virtual auditions are being offered for those interested in being a part of the cast in the Gary Peterson adapted production.
Julie Bell and Kathy Weaver are co-directing the play and both are extremely excited to have the opportunity to bring the story for the first time to the HCAC stage.
“I am super excited to be directing this production! To be a part of such an iconic story is not lost on me,” said Ms. Bell, who made her directorial debut with the HCAC December 2023 production of Christmas Belles . “I can’t wait to bring these strong female roles to life with hints of independence, strength, and endurance!”
Ms. Weaver, who has appeared on the HCAC stage in several productions, including Christmas Belles, most recently co-directed Mary Poppins.

“We’re thrilled to bring Little Women, adapted by Gary Peterson, to the Hardeman County Arts Center stage! This play is a timeless story of family, courage, and personal growth. We’re eagerly anticipating having local talent to breathe life into this beautiful production,” said Ms. Weaver. “Staging such a beloved masterpiece at the HCAC is a wonderful way to celebrate the arts and connect with audiences through inspiring storytelling. I am looking forward to the opportunity to direct such a classic!”
Virtual auditions are now open and must be received by Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 8 p.m. CST. In-person auditions will be held Tuesday and Thursday, July 1 and 3, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the HCAC, 1580 West Market Street, Bolivar 38008.
