Obituary: Joe Rush
Joseph Lane Rush age 74, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Jackson, Tennessee, on March 27, 1951, and grew up in Silerton, Tennessee, the son of the late J.L. and Alma Kate Rush. Hoe was a 1969 graduate of Chester County High School and then attended the University Tennessee (UT) Martin and played football for the Sky Hawks.
He farmed with his father for many years, worked at Bolivar Tannery for a time, and was a loan officer at the Bank of Bolivar for 12 years and then for Regions Bank for four years.
Joe was a member of the Silerton Methodist Church and was an avid UT football fan.
He is survived by a daughter, Katie Brooke Rush of Knoxville; his ex-wife, Vicki Rush of Henderson, and a sister Frances Stack (Lee) of Silerton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Beth Rush; and two brothers, John and Bill Rush.
A Celebration of Life Visitation was held at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
