Obituary: Robert Lee “Bob” Wynne
Robert Lee “Bob” Wynne, aged 88, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Pine Meadows Healthcare in Bolivar, Tennessee. Born on June 7, 1937, in Whiteville, Tennessee, Bob lived a life characterized by quiet strength.
Bob was a production worker with Owens Corning until the plant’s closure, and also a farmer. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and served in the National Guard.
He is survived by his nieces. Sharon Shea and Kevin of Millington, Cathy Abston and Mike of Whiteville, and Sandra Irwin of England; as well as his nephews, Danny Wynne and Kellie of Whiteville, and David Wynne and Cherie of Middleton; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, James Boyd Wynne; his mother, Aliene Kelley Wynne; and his brothers, Jerry Wynne and Tom Wynne.
Chapel services will be at Shackelford Funeral Directors on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 1 p.m. in Bolivar with the burial in Melrose Cemetery in Whiteville.
Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to Bethlehem Baptist Church in Whiteville.
