How Lucky We Are: Highlighting Angela Jackson’s Passion for Community and Small Businesses

Almost a decade ago, local business owner, Angela Jackson, purchased 126 West Market Street #128 in Bolivar, Tennessee with the intention of transforming the building into her insurance office. However, Angela knew in her heart she had a passion for sales and community. Stepping out in faith, she decided to follow her heart. That exciting challenge has become her business, Lucky’s Treats & Treasures. And how lucky we are as a community she thought general merchandise sales were more fun than insurance!
Angela’s venture into general merchandise sales originally started with the creation of Lucky’s Consignments And More. Although the business was successful, Angela’s desire to serve her community remained heavy on her heart. What began as a small consignment shop has evolved into Lucky’s Treats and Treasures, a local, small-town business with endless possibilities. Through its partnership with other small business owners, Angela is able to offer the community fresh and delicious food options, great conversations, gift ideas, and an online auction. She has loved finding products and services that improve people’s lives. Angela has seen Lucky’s Treats and Treasures become more of a blessing to the community since she has opened her space to small business owners.
“Personally, it has increased my joy by being a part of the growth of these small business owners,” said Angela.

“Our weekly online Facebook auction, The Lucky Bidder, was a great addition to the shop because we have been able to offer unique and fun finds to our customer base,” said Ms. Jackson. “It’s been fun over the years!”
Over the nine years that Lucky’s has been in business, intentionality has been Angela’s priority.

“We are constantly moving with intention to remain in business, to serve our friends and customers, and to remain a ministry to the public with great products and encouraging words.”
Prayer is what led Angela to the decision to open the store to other small business owners.
“Once we were able to offer the opportunity to other small business owners to partner with us to move in a new and fresh direction, we welcomed the opportunity,” said Angela.

Angela says that she is learning about herself, others, and God every time she turns the key to open the shop doors.
“My faith has increased over the years because it has not been an easy task to maintain a business. There are so many moving parts and variables to the daily operations of a business,” said Angela.
Finding a balance between work life and home life has been the greatest challenge for Angela, but she says that all of the possibilities of connection and success keep her motivated. Angela still considers being in business a remarkable success and is thankful to her supportive husband and for the friendships she has made over the years. If someone were to ask Angela for advice about starting a small business, she has encouraging words she would share.

“Pray without ceasing. Remain flexible, aware, and willing to change directions when the time comes. Never be afraid to do something different when it’s necessary,” said Amgela.
Consider visiting Lucky’s Treats and Treasures. By stopping by, you are not only supporting Angela, but many other small business owners and families in Hardeman County. For all who visit the store, Angela has special promises.
“Every time you walk through the door, we will be happy to see you, offer you a smile, treat you with kindness, and leave you feeling better than when you arrived. We hope you will come back again and again,” said Angela.
