Rodeo heeler and Bolivar, Tennessee native Lane Mitchell was recognized by Hardeman County Mayor Todd Pulse, who proclaimed December 22 as Lane Mitchell Day. Lane is no amateur when it comes to recognition proven by his recent performance at the 2025 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo where he ended the year ranked #11 in the world of heelers. Despite that accomplishment, being recognized by his hometown probably falls close to that win, which is another moment in Lane living his dream as a professional roper.

Mayor Pulse presented Lane with formal recognition during a hosted Mayor’s Breakfast for staff and county employees, which was held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the county courthouse.

Lane was joined by family members for the recognition of Lane Mitchel Day in Hardeman County, Tennessee.

“He is a remarkable young man and is an example of true dedication and hard work,” said Mayor Pulse, who presented Lane with a certificate, which read:

WHEREAS, Hardeman County would like to recognize the extraordinary accomplishments of one of its very own, Lane Mitchell; and

WHEREAS, Lane was born in Hareman County and is the son of Gem and Vicki Mitchell. His family on both sides is woven into the earliest history of our county and continues to be hard-working and role model citizens for Hardeman County.

WHEREAS, Lane, as a child, once told his 3rd grade teacher that when he grew up, he wanted to be a professional roper with the NFR. He learned to rope alongside his father and brothers. His dream of becoming a professional roper became a reality, founded in hard work, dedication, and commitment. Lane is currently ranked 11 th in the world and continues to push forward to be the very best at his craft.

WHEREAS, Lane is married to the love of his life, Jordi Edens (daughter of professional roper Tommy Edens), and they have a one-and-a-half-year-old son, Brooks.

WHEREAS, on behalf of Commissioner David Bell and all the Hardeman County Commission, I, Todd Pulse, Mayor of Hardeman County, do hereby recognize and congratulate Lane on his remarkable accomplishments, and hereby proclaim that this day, December 22, 2025, is declared Lane Mitchell Day in Hardeman County. We are proud of you and wish you much continued success. May God continue to enrich and bless you.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I do hereby set my hand and seal this 22nd day of December, 2025.

Also in attendance in support of Lane was his wife, Jordi, and son, and parents, Gem and Vicki Mitchell.
