Jackson Police Department Investigating Fatal Shooting of Whiteville Man
[Jackson, TN] — The Jackson Police Department is investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a 31-year-old man early this morning.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2026, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the parking lot of King Baba’s Restaurant, 76 Old Hickory Boulevard East. Upon arrival, officers determined that several shots had been fired at the location.
Shortly thereafter, officers were notified that a man had been transported to a local hospital with gunshot wounds. The victim later succumbed to his injuries.
The victim has been identified as Schuyler Jarvell Taylor, 31 years old, of Whiteville, Tennessee.
