Meet Your Election Candidates Held in Bolivar

A Meet Your Election Candidates event was held at Carriage House Coffee in Bolivar on Saturday, January 10, 2026. The event was hosted by David Nabors, who is a candidate for Hardeman County Sheriff. Mr. Nabors was pleased with the turnout and considered the event a great success.

“Several members of the community came out to ask questions, share their concerns, and take part in meaningful conversations about the issues that matter most to them,” said Mr. Nabors. “The event was also an opportunity to give back to a local business and keep revenue here in our county. Hosting the gathering at Carriage House Coffee allowed us to support a locally owned establishment while creating an open and welcoming space for community engagement.”

Candidates that participated in the Meet Your Election Candidates event included the following:

County Mayor candidate: Greg Bennett

Sheriff candidate: David Nabors

County Commissioner District 5 incumbent: David Bell

County Commission District 4 incumbent: Bobby Hensley

County Commissioner District 7 candidate : Tina Bellamy

County Clerk candidate : Ron Pirtle

County Clerk candidate : John Vickers

Register of Deeds candidate: Hannah Clifton

Register of Deeds candidate: Mark Gilliam

Road Supervisor District 2 candidate: Trevor Bell

School Board District 3 candidate: Erica Garrison

“The amount of people that are coming out as early as they are says that people care about the politics of this county. We are still a good way from the election time, and the buzz is just really going crazy,” said Greg Bennett, who is running for Hardeman County Mayor. “In all reality, whoever wins should know that people are looking at them. They want accountability.”

Erica Garrison, who is running for school board, enjoyed attending the event as a candidate and also a voter.

“I think it is a wonderful idea. We have a few people running for the same position and it is a wonderful way to actually get to meet and talk. It’s really great to meet people and see their ideas and what people care about. I am getting to share my opinions on what matters to me, which is really nice,” said Erica Garrison.

Hannah Clifton, who has been the CMFO and office administrator for the City of Middleton for the past two years, is running for Register of Deeds. She believes her job has given her the necessary experience to run for the position.

“I am a public servant and consider myself for all of the people. That is what is most important to me. Above all else is to serve,” said Ms. Clifton.

Ms. Clifton believes the current office has been run well and she would like to continue that service to the citizens of Hardeman County.

“I truly appreciated the turnout and the honest dialogue we had. We will be hosting several more Meet the Candidates events across the country throughout the campaign, so we can continue listening, connecting, and working,” said Mr. Nabors.
