Hardeman County Schools Board Recognized as Board of Distinction

The Tennessee School Board Association (TSBA) has long provided programs to honor the accomplishments of individual members of the school board and recognizes that it is equally important to acknowledge exceptional work by the school board as a whole. As such, the Hardeman County School Board has been honored for its efforts through the TSBA’s Board of Distinction Program.
Before a Tennessee school board may seek this designation, it must meet specified requirements in four key areas: planning, policy, promotion, and board development. One of the criteria is that each school board member has attended at least 75 percent of the board meetings during the last three
years.
“This is one of TSBA’s most prestigious awards because there are so many qualifications you have to do. They’re not individual awards like a lot of other awards are. This is a group effort by the school board,” said Board Chairman Bobby Henderson.
Only 35 out of the 141 school boards across the state of Tennessee are recognized with this honor.
