Obituary: Randy Ervin

Randy Ervin, a lifelong resident of Hardeman County, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, in his hometown of Bolivar. Born on July 14, 1955, Randy dedicated much of his life to the art and craft of hair design, working at R.E. Hair Design until becoming disabled. His commitment to his profession was a defining aspect of his life, reflecting both his skill and passion.
Randy was born and raised in Bolivar, TN, where he developed a deep connection to his community. His life was enriched by his love of traveling and his joy in fixing hair—not only professionally but also personally, as he cherished moments spent with his mother, Genail Ervin, assisting her with hair styling. Randy’s warmth extended beyond his career; he was a familiar presence at Parran’s Chapel Baptist Church, where he faithfully attended church and Sunday school.
He also enjoyed working at the Peabody and embraced opportunities to engage with those around him through his many interests. Randy’s life was marked by a sincere dedication to family and faith.
Randy is survived by his loving mother, Genail Ervin, who shared in his life’s journey. He is also remembered fondly by several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Freddy Eugene Ervin.
Chapel services were 1 pm Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Shackelford Funeral Home in Bolivar with burial in Bolivar Memorial Cemetery.
Randy Ervin’s life will be remembered for his heartfelt dedication to his craft, his faith, and his love for his family and community. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and craftsmanship that will be treasured by all who knew him.
