Mayor Pulse Announces Grant Funding

Mayor Pulse along with Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee and Deputy TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter recently announced new funding in grants for Hardeman County.

“Ensuring that our local infrastructure is equipped to meet the demands of future economic development is a top priority for our administration,” said Governor Lee.

It was announced that Hardeman County had recently received a $420,000 Community Block Development Grant for Emergency Services Improvements and a $150,000 3 Star Grant.

“These are grants that we have been working on for the last 2 years and are now seeing the process come together.  We have secured a Community Block Development Grant for a new ambulance, and 3 Star funding for emergency equipment that will benefit all our citizens.  This is all part of the plan to build up our infrastructure and we are awaiting confirmation on other grants as well,” said Mayor Pulse. “Since taking office, we have been able to secure over 2 million in funding for equipment, solid waste, water systems, senior literacy programs, marketing plans (industrial development), health department, and archives. I want to thank the State of TN, Economic and Community Development, 3 Star, and Southwest Development for making this possible. It takes a great team working together to make this happen, and now we will move into the final procurement steps.”
