Mark Gilliam Announces Candidacy for Register of Deeds

Friends and Neighbors,

I am honored to officially announce my candidacy for Register of Deeds for Hardeman County, Tennessee.

As a 1996 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, God’s will led me to Hardeman County that same year. With a degree in Agribusiness, I moved to Bolivar to begin working at the Farmers Cooperative, where I have now served for 30 years in operations management. What began as a job quickly became home. I fell in love with this community—and with my wife, Jammie, whom I married in 2002.

Jammie is a lifelong resident of Bolivar and has been a dedicated teacher in the Hardeman County School System for 25 years. She currently teaches first grade at Hornsby Elementary School. We are blessed with two sons: Walker, 19, a 2024 graduate of BCHS who now attends the University of Tennessee at Martin, and Trevor, 16, a junior at BCHS. We are active members at First Baptist Church in Bolivar, and this community has truly blessed our family in countless ways.

For the past eight years, I have had the honor of serving as County Commissioner for District 7, Position 2. In this role, I have worked closely with citizens across Hardeman County and gained valuable experience in leadership, management, and budgeting. I have always strived to serve the people of Hardeman County with dignity, integrity and respect.

I have been a proud member of the Bolivar Rotary Club since 2013 and currently serve as its President. Through Rotary, I have had the privilege of participating in meaningful service projects that strengthen our community.

For more than 15 years, I have been a cast member of the Hardeman County Hee Haw Show, where many know me as “Gordie.” It has been a privilege to be a part of such a fun-loving and dedicated group. The funds raised through the show benefit the American Cancer Society, supporting research and advancing the ongoing fight to find a cure for cancer.

I have dedicated many years to supporting youth athletics in our community. I have had the privilege of coaching and mentoring many young athletes through the years, including my own children. This passion has continued into the high school level. As a member of the Bolivar Quarterback Club, I have helped organize fundraisers such as “Meet the Tigers” and supported the team throughout each season. Additionally, I have served as one of the voices on WMOD Radio for 17 seasons, providing Friday night commentary for BCHS and MHS football games.

The office of Register of Deeds plays a vital role in protecting and maintaining property records while serving the public with efficiency, accuracy, and respect. My leadership experience, attention to detail, and passion for serving others have led me to seek this opportunity to serve as your next Hardeman County Register of Deeds. This office has a firm foundation of excellence, built through years of dedicated service to the citizens of Hardeman County. I am committed to upholding that tradition by providing outstanding customer service to every resident who walks through the door.

I respectfully ask for your support in the Hardeman County Primary Election on May 5, 2026. Early voting will take place from April 15 through April 30. When you go to vote, please declare Republican and remember:

Mark Gilliam for Register of Deeds

I would be honored to earn your vote and look forward to meeting with you in the coming months. Thank you for your support and for allowing me the privilege to continue serving the people of Hardeman County.

Sincerely,

Mark Gilliam
