Bolivar Joins Worldwide Celebration with First Make Music Day Bolivar

The City of Bolivar and Bolivar Main Street are excited to announce the inaugural Make Music Day Bolivar, a free community music celebration taking place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the Bolivar Farmers Market.

Part of an international event celebrated in more than 1,000 cities across over 100 countries, Make Music Day transforms communities around the world into stages for musicians of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. Held annually on the first day of summer, the event encourages people to come together through the universal language of music.

Bolivar’s first annual celebration will feature live performances throughout the day by local and regional musicians representing a variety of musical styles and genres. Unlike traditional music festivals, Make Music Day is open to everyone—from professional performers and established bands to students, church groups, hobby musicians, and first-time performers.

“Music has a unique way of bringing people together,” said Dylan Hill, event coordinator. “We’re excited to bring this worldwide tradition to Bolivar and create an opportunity for local musicians to share their talents while building community through music.”

The event will be held at the Bolivar Farmers Market and is free for both performers and attendees. Families are encouraged to attend and enjoy a day filled with music, fellowship, and community spirit.

Musicians interested in participating are encouraged to register online to reserve a performance slot. All performances must be family-friendly and suitable for audiences of all ages.

The event is sponsored by the City of Bolivar and Bolivar Main Street as part of ongoing efforts to promote arts, culture, and community engagement throughout the city.

For additional information or to register as a performer, visit the Make Music Day Bolivar registration page (bolivar.makemusicday.org) or contact Dylan Hill at dhill.cityofbolivar@gmail.com.
