UT/TSU Extension to Host Week 2 of Lunch N Learn Series

The UT/TSU Extension Hardeman County Office invites the public to attend Week 2 of the free Lunch N Learn Series on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the UT/TSU Extension Office, 210 Vildo Road, Bolivar, TN.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch and enjoy an informative program while learning from one of the region’s horticulture experts.
This week’s featured speaker is Celeste Scott, UT Extension Horticulture Specialist for West Tennessee. Her presentation, “Garden Favorites in Bloom,” will explore the world of flowering shrubs, perennials, and annuals that bring lasting beauty to home landscapes. Attendees will learn what makes these popular plants successful, including their standout characteristics, growing requirements, and the best ways to incorporate them into the landscape. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just getting started, you’ll leave with fresh ideas for adding color and interest to your garden.
Celeste is a native West Tennessean who was raised on a production row crop and beef cattle farm. She earned her undergraduate degree in Plant and Soil Science from Middle Tennessee State University and her master’s degree in Agriculture and Natural Resources from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Her career began with Tennessee Farmers Co-operative before serving as a UT Extension County Agent. Today, she serves as the UT Extension Horticulture Specialist for West Tennessee, where she supports horticulture research, program development, and Extension agents throughout the region.
The Lunch N Learn Series is free and open to the public.
