Obituary: Ray Jackson
Ray Jackson, born Doris Ray Jackson on August 28, 1951, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at the age of 74. Known for his hard work, warm spirit, and deep love for family, Ray’s life was a testament to the virtues of dedication and kindness.
Ray devoted his professional years to working as a truck driver. In that demanding role, he demonstrated resilience and an unwavering work ethic that formed the foundation of his character and set an example for those around him. His reliability on the road was matched only by his dependability at home, where he was the cornerstone of his family.
Ray found fulfillment far beyond his professional accomplishments. He deeply enjoyed building things, working with horses, and spending hours on his tractor bush hogging—finding simple joys in improving his land and watching his labor bear fruit. Fishing was another beloved pastime, offering moments of peace and quiet reflection. But most of all, Ray treasured family “get-togethers,” cherishing every opportunity to gather with loved ones, share stories, and create lasting memories.
Ray is survived by his devoted wife, Ann Brumbelow Jackson, whose love and partnership were steadfast throughout their years together. He leaves behind his daughter Rachel and son-in-law Trent Roberts, along with his son Donnie and daughter-in-law Amanda Jackson. Ray was a proud grandfather to Britney Falls, Chelsea Jenkins, Hailey Beasley, Brooke Roberts, Clayton Jackson, Cody Jackson, Trent Roberts, Hope Jackson, Marina Jackson, and Lance Roberts. Further enriching his legacy are the great-grandchildren: Eli, Ryleigh, Braxton, Jaxon, Jameson, Hudson, Brylee, Eastlyn, McKinlee, Raya, Brooklyn, Diamond, Evanna, Dean, Oliver, Millie, Ainsley, and AJ. Each held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his father Daniel Duke Jackson, mother Thelma Jean Howell Jackson, son Danny Jackson, brothers Gene Jackson, Greg Jackson, Tony Jackson, and his sister Debbie Cox. Their memories lived on in Ray’s stories and in the values he shared with his family.
The family will gather to honor Ray’s life with a graveside service at Reaves Cemetery, located at 110 Reaves Church Lane, Middleton, TN 38052, on July 31, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Friends and loved ones are invited to join in remembrance and to celebrate the remarkable life Ray led.
Ray Jackson’s legacy is one of love, hard work, and a genuine appreciation for both land and family. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him, but the lessons he instilled and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of being part of his life.
