Davis, Ford, Ross and Polk Recognized for School Board Achievements

Four members of the Hardeman County School Board were recognized for advancing to new levels during the school board’s September 10, 2026, meeting.
During the director’s report, the Dr. Christy Smith announced that board members Johnny Davis, Anthony Ford, Gene Ross and Bradford Polk had each achieved a new level in the boardmanship awards program.
The recognition followed the Southwest Fall District Meeting in Lexington, which members of the Hardeman County Board of Education attended earlier in the week.
The Tennessee School Boards Association Boardsmanship Awards recognize school board members who demonstrate a commitment to ongoing training, participation in workshops and board activities, and service beyond the local level.
Board Chairman Kenny Adkins congratulated the board members on their accomplishments and encouraged other members to continue working toward additional levels of recognition.
Adkins noted that board members may already be completing many of the activities needed to advance through the program. He encouraged members to communicate with the Tennessee School Boards Association and review the requirements for reaching the next level.
The program provides board members an opportunity to advance through different levels as they continue their training and development as members of the Board of Education.
Davis, Ford, Ross and Polk were congratulated during the meeting for their continued progress and commitment to their roles on the school board.
